Inserting New Layers
You can insert new imagery and elevation layers in your project from:
§ Files on your own computer or on your local network.
§ A remote database that is served over a network by one of these GIS servers:
§ Oracle Spatial Database
§ TerraGate Server (Legacy support)
§ ArcSDE Raster Server
§ Web Map Service
§ Web Map Tile Service
§ ECW Image Web Server
§ Google Earth Enterprise Server
Imagery layers contain geo-referenced, satellite or aerial images that overlay the terrain imagery whereas elevation layers contain geo-referenced elevation raster that replaces the elevation data of the terrain database.
All new layers must use the project's coordinate system. If a new layer is based on a source that uses a different coordinate system, TerraBuilder reprojects the layer, converting the layer's data to match the project's coordinate system. If a source does not include coordinate system information or TerraBuilder is unable to read this information, you must supply the coordinate system information so that TerraBuilder can reproject the layer.
