Navigate in the 3D World
Ways to Navigate
Fly to a specific location:
§ Search – On the side toolbar > > type an address or location, and click Search .
§ Fly to a favorite location – On the side toolbar > > Navigate tab > click the location to fly to. Note that you must be logged in to a SkylineGlobe Server to search.
Fly around freely:
§ Move around – Click and drag the screen.
§ Zoom in and out – On a touch screen, double click the screen, and move your finger up to zoom in and down to zoom out. When using a mouse, rotate the wheel button to zoom in or out, in relation to the center point.
§ Fly around a location – Navigate to the location, and then on the side toolbar > > Tools tab > Rotate.
§ Change the plane and camera altitude – When using a mouse, rotate the wheel button and press CTRL.
§ Use the HUD navigation controls – Click the navigation controls to turn North or zoom in or out of the terrain. If the navigation controls aren’t currently displayed, on the side toolbar > Settings > Settings tab in View section, turn on Navigation Controls.
§ Set the field of view (in degrees) – On the side toolbar > > Tools tab > slide the slider to set the desired field of view.
Select the navigation mode:
§ On the side toolbar > > Modes tab > select a mode:
§ Underground mode - For exploring the subsurface of the terrain. You can navigate under the terrain’s surface and through buildings. A subsurface grid navigation aid appears when you navigate below the terrain, allowing you to navigate the same way as above ground.
§ Collision detection - Any collision with a solid structure, i.e., any object whose fill opacity is greater than 50%, while navigating within the 3D model, stops movement
§ Slide mode - Mouse controls movement of the camera. When Slide mode is not activated, the mouse controls movement of the terrain.
Take a tour:
To play any of the pre-recorded presentations:
1. On the side toolbar > > Navigate tab > click the presentation to play.
2. Click Play . In the list of presentation steps that is displayed, you can click a step to jump directly to it.
Set the render mode:
Render modes determine how the terrain should be displayed in the 3D Window, as a 3D model, a flat 2D surface, or as a 2D model facing North.

Save Favorite Locations
Save favorite locations in the 3D World so you can quickly find them later. You can also save the location of a 3D object.
To create a favorite location:
1. Navigate to the location. See “Ways to Navigate” for more information.
2. Right click > Add Location.
3. In the Add New Location - properties dialog, type a Description and an Activation Action (Fly to or Jump to) for this location. The location is saved and available from the My Data section on the Layers panel. To reopen this dialog after it is closed, right-click the location in the Layers panel, and select Properties.
4. To delete the location, click Delete.
5. To share the location, click Share and then copy the link. The link will open the project with the saved location in the center of the 3D Window. To copy the location's coordinates, click Coordinates.
